Matters Arising
Jane raised the point that the summer party was poorly attended. We had several people who said they were attending and didn’t. A lot of food and drink was wasted. The party was originally intended to keep the group going in the summer months when traditionally there wasn’t a play. It was felt that perhaps we should just meet up for drinks or a meal in a local pub.

Lighting – the lighting bar and power points have now been removed from the hall. Nick had asked them to install them at the back of the hall but this hadn’t been done. Nick says he can do this himself. For the next production we can hire scaffolding to install them at the back of the hall.

Treasurer’s Report
We now have £1575.86 in the bank and £78.19 in cash.

The party cost £176.09 and we received £90.00 from members to help pay for it.

The play took £1111.00 and expenses were £1036.00 so the profit was £74.83 but this did include the £94.00 raffle donation for Jess Lambert.

A discussion followed regarding the poor ticket sales, we need to do more to let people know that we have a show. Jane suggested we get a banner put on the village hall. Moira may put a big banner/poster in her garden. Many of our posters have gone missing from the village. Moira says we need to get photos earlier for publicity. We need to gain more support from the locals.

Catherine was asked to put in the village magazine the fact that we need support for the shows.

November Play
The choice of Hay Fever has had to be postponed due to casting issues. Nick has found two, one act plays which he thinks may be suitable. Prompt, costume, front of house etc. are sorted – we haven’t a publicity officer yet.

Christmas Party
Paul will have left the George Inn when we want our Christmas Party. Di will see what the Ilchester Arms in Symnondsbury can do and also the Quarterdeck in West Bay.

Any Other Business
Jane has managed to sell some of our costumes for £15.00 – she will keep the money in order to buy more clothes for the next production.

Moira has a synopsis of a pantomime but has a problem as we don’t know how many men we may have interested in a part. She’ll write to several people to see if she can get their commitment.

Moira has also spoken to Teresa Dare and she is keen to be our music director.

There being no other business, the meeting closed at 9.410pm. Jane was thanked for her hospitality.
