Committee meeting Tues 15th Nov 1977

Mr Shears the piano tuner reported that the piano had become infested with mice ans was beyond repair!

Committee meeting Wed 16th Nov 1977

Mrs Higham reported the outcome of her meeting with Mrs Zaiger Chairman of the Chideock Village Hall Committee, which has agreed to the purchase of a new piano. It was resolved that Mrs Higham goes to a second hand piano sale on the 17th Nov and purchase a piano up to £100.

This was done and the piano was delivered in the afternoon of the 17th Nov. It was proposed that there should be fund raising efforts to cover the cost of this piano which was £90. The treasurer reported that she had already received from a donor, who wishes to remain unnamed the sum of £25.

AGM June 9th 1978

Mr Chattin made a report on the progress of the Lighting Project. Since the last AGM a re-assessment of thelights had been under review. It was now proposed that the eventual positioning of the lights would be over the stage. At the same time to incorporate into the project a prompt box at the side of the stage. Mr Newman agreed to draw up plans of the new siting of lights and prompt box.

Mrs Hussey (President) thanked everyone for their help and co-operation in making the production of Blithe Spirit such a success.

Mrs Beal (Social Secretary) reported the annual dinner took place at Eype's Mouth Hotel. 36 members attended. Mrs Baillon was presented with a travelling clock as a mark of appreciation of her work as Treasurer for the last 17 years.

AOB: Mr Newman proposed that a committee be appointed to establish a constitution for the Chideock Players. Mr Chattin seconded and it was carried unanimously.
