CHIDEOCK PLAYERS

AMATEUR DRAMATIC GROUP

Cinderella and the Bypass of Doom

So, you don't recognise this pantomime? That's because it's been written by the groups very own Leigh Conley!

The premiere of this pantomime took place at the home of the Chideock Players, The Chideock Village Hall, on Thursday 24th November, Friday 25th November and Saturday 26th November.

The panto is set in Pantoland and the baddie "The Great Colin", played by stalwart Nick Baker, is preparing to knock down all the houses in the village to make way for a bypass. This will allow greater access to some of the Olympic events which are now to be staged in Chideock!

An newcomer to the role of Dame, Haydn Wright, will lead the goodies as Dame Roid to combat Colin and his henchman, Scarper and Bodget. Scarper will be played by young starlett Sarah Williams, who is following in the footsteps of her mother and treading the boards at Chideock. The part of Bodget will be bought to life by Di Dowle.

Natalie Williams plays Little Miss Muffet, who wonders if Simple Simon, played by newcomer to the group, Tom Staple, will ever notice her.

Cinderella, is played by Taz Moores and together with Zipper, Pete Moores, they are the brains behind the goodies plan to scupper the Bypass.
However, Cinderella is distracted by the arrival of Colin's son Little Boy Blue, Catherine Battne, so will the goodies succeed or will the Chideock Parish Council councillor Mrs Smith, played by Val Cowell, halt their plans?

Other characters in the show are played by Nick Zaiger, Pam Fuller and Moira Lucas. A chorus of children will also be starring in the show.

Pictures from rehearsals can be found on the Chideock Players Facebook page, but here are a few to share now...

Well ladies, how could you resist Simon as seen above?!?
