The Chideock Players have been entertaining audiences at the Chideock Village Hall since 1950 (with a slight break in the late 1970's and early 1980's) although plays were performed a number of years beforehand organised by the WI. As a group, we aim to put on two performances each year, one of which maybe our biannual pantomime.

Auditioning for this play, to be directed by Val Cowell, will take place on Mon 9th Jan 2012 19:30.

Cinderella and the Bypass of Doom

This years pantomime entertained audiences at the Chideock Village Hall on Thursday 24th, Friday 25th and Saturday 26th November. Pictures from the show can still be found on left under "Current"

Musical Theatre Masterclass

Many of the Chideock Players and newcomers enjoyed a singing workshop, dance workshop and then putting the 2 together to sing and dance to One from The Chorus Line in July. It truely was a singular sensation and hopefully will be repeated again!

Ding Dong! Murder at the Belfry

Another one off Murder Mystery evening took place in the Chideock Village Hall on Friday 10th June at 7:15pm. The audience tucked into a 3 course meal whilst the St Adolphus Campanology Society (SACS) celebrated winning a prestigiou 8 bell peal competition in Oxford. The peal was written by a new member of the group seduced away from a rival group. During the celebrations a former member of SACS arrives shouting a tirad of abuse, leading to her untimely death. Enter DCI Shirley Holmes to solve the case, with a little help from the audience...

Another successful play from the group entertained audiences over 3 evenings during April.
